This is an original photo of French soldiers (FFL) training in the Home Counties (England)  in august 1940 and was used in the press at the time.

Maurice Buckmaster (S.O.E)

Maurice J. Buckmaster was born on the 11th January 1902 at Ravenhill in Staffordshire in England. After leaving college he went into teaching and in his twenties he moved to France where he improved his French well enough to be taken on by 'Le Matin' as a reporter.

Recently I picked up this fantastic original leaflet printed in 1945 by an enterprising café owner in Tournai in Belgium enticing returning Allied soldiers into his establishment with a mouth watering offer of fried eggs, chips and bread. 

Albert Jean Borderie dit "Bébert"

Just after dawn on the 16th of February 1944 several convoys of German soldiers attacked the winter quarters of new recruits of the AS Violette who were camped at the old mill known locally as le Pont-Lasveyras close to Beysennac and Payzac. There were fifty young résistants aged 19 – 25 years staying there at the time, many of them refractaires to the S.T.O.

Récemment j’ai acquis des objets concernant Robert Pruvot ainsi qu'une personne qui avait rangé des pièces d’une vieille maison dans le Suffolk en Angleterre.
Agent du réseau “Evasion”, il fut arrêté à la Mairie de Grand-Fort-Philippe par la Gestapo le 24 avril 1942.
