The town of Royan is planning to create a memorial to remember those who lost their lives from the bombing raids of 5th January and 15th January 1945.
To be able to create the memorial the Mayor's office is launching an appeal for private and public funding which will accompany civic funding already in place. To publicise the appeal the Mayor's office has published a booklet that talks of the project and equally the history. Extracts can be found below.
As well as patriotic and historical associations supporting the project the Association Brigade RAC / 5Oème RI will be supporting the project.
